The most famous region, Noosa is popular for good reason! Hastings Street is lined with trendy restaurants, cafes, ice creameries, and boutiques, the beaches are pristine and the national park luscious and full of wildlife including koalas. All of these amazing elements are within walking distance from each other.
Maroochydore, Marcoola and Mooloolaba are the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Mooloolaba boasts a port from which you can set out on a number of adventures including deep sea fishing, learn to sail class, or join a whale watch cruise. The spit here is also one of the safest beaches on the coast. The waterfront walking track from Maroochydore up to Mooloolaba is the perfect early morning or afternoon activity and the kids can bring their bikes! For peace and quiet and potentially your own private slice of beach head to Twin Waters or Peregian. Twin Waters also has a fantastic inflatable waterpark on the lake, along with plenty of other family friendly activities.
Caloundra is the region of beaches, with a range to choose from and each is more gorgeous than the last. Kings Beach is popular with families as there is a waterpark playground, plenty of cafes, and a decent stretch of golden sand.
You will see them long before you arrive as the Glass House Mountains are part of the Sunshine Coast backdrop. You can drive the lookout circuit to see the entire set of mountains, partake in many walks as well as explore the surrounding hinterland regions of Maleny, Montville, and Mapleton for quaint village atmosphere, gourmet dining, boutique hotels and homemade souvenirs and gifts.
