The beaches, attractions, rainforests, restaurants, theme parks and amazing varieties of accommodation make the Gold Coast a particularly fantastic destination with something for every family.
Our top tip for finding the ideal Gold Coast family accommodation is to speak with a local who knows the area and the resorts. Luckily for you, we have a few of those on hand. Call us on 1300 788 553 for a personalised selection.
With that in mind, there are some family favourites that are sure to please no matter what. Here are our top 3 resorts in no particular order!
1. Sea World Resort
Australia’s only theme park resort is a popular choice among families with both young, and older kids as there are a mix of activities for all ages. Not only does it have its own theme park but Sea World Resort has undergone a face lift and is sporting a 4.5 star rating which it thoroughly deserves. The rooms are modern, clean, and have everything you need, there are plenty of dining options, and the famous golden sand beaches are at your door step. We recommend visiting ‘the spit’ just up the road, it’s one of the best beaches on the GC. If you love a spot of fishing while the kids swim or you’re just hungry drop by Pete’s Seafood on the way. If you're children are younger read our list of the best Gold Coast beaches for young children.
2. Surfers Paradise Marriott
The Marriott oozes 5 Star luxury that is not often seen in newer buildings. An opulent lobby, spacious rooms and friendly staff are some of the elements that make Surfers Paradise Marriott truly special. What really earns this resort a spot on this list is the multimillion-dollar sandy lagoon filled with tropical fish, a waterfall, waterslide, whirl pool, caves, spas and bridges (arguably the best pool in Queensland).
Our hot tip is to visit the pool bar. Not only do they offer light meals and beverages but they also hire out electric underwater scooters and you can organise boat hire to use in the canal next to the resort (for an hour or two of fishing while the little ones are in kids club). 3. Paradise Resort
Paradise Resort is the ultimate escape for kids. Everything about this resort has been created with your children’s enjoyment in mind. From themed accommodation with playstations installed to the two waterparks, one created especially for smaller kids, with water cannons, waterslides, climbing frames and the huge 600 litre tipping bucket. The kids club is made up of 9 themed play spaces for kids 0 – 12 years of age, making the resort one of few that offer care for kids aged 0 – 2.
We often here that the kids don’t want to leave kids club to visit the theme parks they are that engaging. These awesome experiences for the kids mean that parents can enjoy some much needed alone time over a massage, meal, beach date or just quiet time by the pool.
